Doodleledo x Earl Of The East: A Unique Doodleledo Experience
Back in 2019, we had the opportunity to run one of our most unique and special Doodleledo sessions ever! We did an amazing collaboration with a company called Earl Of The East.
Before we begin, let’s learn a bit more about them...
What is Earl of the East?
Earl of the East is based in Hackney, East London and is a lifestyle brand with a focus on fragrance and homeware! With being renowned for their candles, fragrances, and uniqueness it was a perfect opportunity to put a twist on our usual Doodleledo sessions. And that's where our relationship started! Since then Earl of the East has expanded, opening another store at the popular Coal Drops Yard at Kings Cross!
The Doodleledo
We made the most of this great opportunity to try out new ways to do our sessions! This one with Earl of the East was especially focused around connecting doodling to our senses! Just as seeing and tasting brings back memories, smells do just the same thing! And thanks to Earl of the East’s amazing fragrances we were able to use them and help people connect their memories through doodling and smelling! It was such a great experience for us all!
We asked everyone to draw what a certain smell represented for them. How a certain smell made them feel, happy or sad, it was a great moment to get everyone talking and to expressing their feelings. It helped everyone get to know each other better, telling stories about their memories and nostalgia. It was amazing to see how certain smells can trigger certain memories, doodles, and feelings!
All of these elements made this session extra special and super creative, doing something that we had never done before.
Do it yourself!
The great part about this session is that we learnt that it can be done anywhere! You could even give it a go yourself. Get together with friends, family or even colleagues and have a go at connecting your different senses. Make sure you don’t limit yourself to smells, try stimulating your vision and hearing too! Things like listening to music can bring back many memories!
